Started going here - super chill but professional. Dr Lydia was both knowledgeable, but friendly. No pressure environment. Strong recommend. Parking is in the middle field side, not the university side, so just know that and you’re good.

My new prescription is perfect and the larger frame is helping me be safer as I walk since everything is in the distance lense. Reading is fine too as the tear drop lense is placed correctly. Staff are all great at UO.

I’ve been coming to this optometrist since I moved to the Bay Area in the mid-1980s. Even after moving to San Jose I would make the trip up. As the original owners transitioned to new team of doctors I was not sure what to expect but I have nothing but praise for the new members of the practice. Not only have they been keeping me seeing clearly for regular, sun, and computer glasses but also they flagged a health issue with my (now aging!) eyes and got me in to see a specialist where it is now under control.

This place was awesome. I haven’t had my eyes checked in years. The staff were professional and polite. The doctor was extremely thorough and took the time to explain to me what was going on.

A friend referred me to University Optometry as I had a bad experience at another office who lacked customer service when picking out frames. I had my prescription in hand so I called University Optometry. They only allow appointments due to covid. When I arrived I called the number on the door and they welcomed me in. I was assisted by Bob Valdez for my styling. I told him I was doubled covered but didn’t want to spend a arm and a leg on frames. I also told him my face is wide so it’s hard to find eyeglasses that compliment me. He was able to show me different options In different price points and was updating me on my total out of pocket cost estimate as we went. I selected two pairs of glasses. One for computer work and a pair of prescription sunglasses. Once he wrote up my paperwork I thought we were done but he measured my face with the glasses and also marked where on the lenses my pupil is centered. I wish I would of sought this place out to begin with! It was well worth the 30 minute commute!
